The Lexington Fire Department is a combination emergency services department which provides fire protection, A.L.S. ambulance service, rescue, hazardous materials and a variety of non-emergency service to residence within 55 square miles of Lafayette County along the banks of the Missouri River just 40 minutes east of Kansas City, Missouri.

We are proud to have mutual aid agreements with the surrounding departments in an effort to support each other during high call volumes. Coverage is provided out of one station staffed 24 hours a day supplemented by part-time and reserve personnel.

The department is staffed with 35 personnel that are crossed trained in fire protection and emergency medical services as either emergency medical technicians or paramedic. operating with 2 engines, 2 ambulances, tanker, and 2 brush trucks.
